Twisk is a picture-perfect, listed village in the province of North Holland. A post card-worthy site full of restored farms, churches and historical houses. The village boasts no fewer than 50 buildings listed on the national historic register.
Visitors come to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings, as well as the architecture of the monuments in this linear settlement. Moose House is located at the edge of Twisk. In the summer, the countryside affords a view of Hoorn, 15 km away, and in the winter it is the ideal location for a romantic getaway.
Moose House is a great place to relax and recover from a busy life, a place for contemplation and enjoying life. A quiet place to read that book you never have time for. Twisk may even be the place to find the inspiration to write your own book. In short, it is an ideal place in which to relax, find yourself and enjoy the stunning beauty of your surroundings.
Description of Moose House
New, free-standing, luxurious holiday home.
The house is located on the premises of Beukenhoeve, an 18th century, listed farmhouse, or ‘stolpboerderij’.
The holiday home, built in 2017 for 2 people, or a maximum of 3, has all modern conveniences.
The two-storey interior is a combination of design and antiques.
Fast wifi.
The minimum stay at Moose House is 3 days: midweek or for a long weekend, but those who really enjoy life can stay as long as they like.
Ground floor
One wall of the living room, which opens onto a large, covered veranda, is papered in a reproduction of one Jozef Israels famous seaside paintings.
The dining area features large windows, a round cherry wood table and five attractive, comfortable chairs.
The other walls are decorated with original etchings, drawings of Twisk, Medemblik and the former Zuiderzee.

The modern kitchen with its natural stone countertop has an oven/microwave, a large induction hob, ventilator, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher. And of course, the finest pans, exclusive tableware, glasses and a full range of cooking utensils. If you like cooking, you’ll love Moose House!
Utility room with a washing machine and space for storing outside cushions, vacuum cleaner, etc. Separate toilet with wash basin.
Upperfloor
Bedroom: very large, light master bedroom in nautical style, furnished with antiques.
The 1.80 x 2.10 m box spring bed comfortably sleeps two, and is also suitable for tall people. Ample cupboard and closet space.
The room also has a comfortable sitting area with luxurious armchairs and a small table.
Robes and slippers are provided.
Oak floors. View of a large garden with fruit trees, and on the other side of a small canal, pastures where sheep and cattle graze; in some years there is a view of tulip fields.
Extra single bed: a ladder in the bedroom leads to a cosy single room under the eaves of the house: the sailor’s private berth. The bed is 0.90 x 2.00 m; the room has its own lighting and an electrical outlet for chargers, etc.
The luxurious bathroom features floor heating, shower, toilet; towels and toiletries are provided. The shower is also suitable for taller people.
The area
The name of the house is derived from the hand-carved teak Moose head that is mounted between the windows on the spacious veranda.
An outdoor dining table with 4 chairs, two teak deck chairs, and teak side tables complete the appeal of the terrace. Blankets are provided, so you can sit outside until late.
Lots of privacy.
The well-maintained garden has a south/southwest orientation, a large grass lawn, mature trees and beautiful flower borders.
Weather permitting, you can see for 14 kilometres.
West Friesland is an excellent place for walking and cycling.
